In Preparation of Pregnancy 2

HEALTHY EATING: The body must have adequate stores of vitamins and minerals before pregnancy.
QUIT SMOKING: It is advisable to quit smoking in preparation for pregnancy because smoking usually reduces fertility by affecting ovulation in women.
DON’T DRINK ALCOHOL: Heavy drinking can cause problems in a developing embryo, leading to poor growth, intellectual problems and birth defects. It is advised not to drink alcohol during any stage of pregnancy especially during the first trimester of pregnancy because this is the period where important organs such as the brain are forming.
STOP MEDICATIONS: Some medications are harmful to the baby or may cause problems in fertility. If taking any regular medication, it is best to seek the advice of your doctor before stopping to take it.
