Folic Acid for Pregnant Women

Folic acid, also know as folate is found mostly on green, leafy vegetables like spinach and enriched grains like cereals and rice. Taking enough folic acid during the early stage of pregnancy is one way to reduce the risk of neural tube defects, in which the tissues that form the brain and the spinal cord of the embryo does not develop properly.
