“Night Sweats”
Doctors in primary care often have patients complaining about night sweats which refer to excess sweating that occur during the night. It may be true that the night sweats a woman patient is experiencing is only due to bedroom conditions but if it is not related to an overheated environment and it occurs almost every night, the doctors refer to it as HOT FLASHES. There are many known and different causes of night sweats. And for the doctor to distinguish what is causing the patient’s hot flashes, he must obtain a detailed medical history and tests to determine the medical condition. Some of the known conditions that cause night sweats are menopause, idiopathic hyperhidrosis, infections, side effects of certain medicines, cancer, hypoglycemia, hormonal disorders and neurological conditions.
